Conducting a literature review is a vital part of anynresearch. Library and information science (LIS)nprofessionals often play a central role in supportingnacademics in their efforts to locate relevant publicationsnand in teaching novice researchers skills associatednwith literature reviews. This paper examines literaturenreview processes with the aim of contributing to a betternunderstanding of their complexity and uncertaintynand to propose a new approach to literature reviews:none capable of dealing with such complexity andnuncertainty.
