Argentina launches ARS 2 billion public institution broadband tender

Argentina's communications regulator Enacom has followed a tender for ARS 1 billion in public funds for urban broadband rollouts by officially launching an ARS 2 billion auction to deliver fixed internet access to health, education and security institutions across the country. Bidders will have to commit to building networks with a minimum transmission capacity of around 100Mbps, including 10Mbps for Wi-Fi for public institutions on a government list.The government will use funds from the Fondo Fiduciario de Servicio Universal (FFSU) trust to finance projects ranging from ARS 300,000 to ARS 80 million, which may cover more than one public institution and finance the total required investment, said Enacom.
