Building and movement The clients have a very special hobby: together they love to convert old buildings into smart homes, investing lots of effort, skilled craftmanship and unorthodox ideas. They both attended school in Baden bei Wien, are very keen on sport and have three daughters. Ida, Nora and Lene are seven, nine and eleven years old - and full of a natural urge for activity. A large garden with plenty of opportunities for climbing was therefore a must, in addition the couple regularly meet up with the sister of the woman client and her family. When they came across a desolate winegrower's house with garden close to the centre of Baden bei Wien, which had once served as temporary wine tavern, they wasted no time: here the children could romp as they wished. They decided to renovate the existing building and to add an extension, they were to live in one part, the sister's family in the other. Until the work was completed they provisionally shared the run-down existing building, which meant ten people and a dog living in a floor area of 80 m~2. "Each family had its own sleeping area, we shared the living room/kitchen", says the woman client. "The atmosphere was extremely pleasant."
