EINOSATO NURSERY SCHOOL

摘要

Einosato nursery school was built for 90 children in Hyogo Japan. It locates nearby Eigashima bay, suburb of Akashi city. We think nursery school that children spend the greater part of their living hours should be another home rather than a facility. Therefore, we designed this nursery school as "a big house to live in together". For the continuity to its playground and familiarity one story wooden structure is selected. Every nursery rooms are arranged to surround the playground and structural walls with black painted cedar clapboards constitute its outer wall.A one-sided stream roof put on these rooms in order to enhance not only the sense of unity as "a big house", but also the spatial continuity to this building. The sense of scale not only the spatial scale such as the height eaves, but also the size of components is also regarded as important to bring intimacy to this big house.
