摘要

In order to produce fine (1-10 μm) NbTi multifilamentary superconducting strands, i.e. conductors used in AC applications, Cu alloys containing Mn and MnSi are used as interfilamentary matrix materials. Hardness of these alloys as a function of strain, filamentary spacing at which proximity coupling occurs, critical current density and filament-matrix interface reaction, have been studied. The information obtained will be useful in the determination of the design of fine NbTi multifilamentary superconducting wires and the thermomechanical processes to be used in their manufacture.
