Former ASA President Awarded National Medal of Science

On July 27, Bradley Efron went to the White House, where President Bush presented him with the National Medal of Science for 2005, and Efron, the 2004 president of the ASA, became only the fifth statistician to receive that honor since the medal's inception in 1959.
