Water Transport Charges and the California Divide: Implications of Ruling for Future State Capital Water Projects

These transportation charges are of particular importance to Southern California water agencies. The SWP is a complex system of dams, reservoirs, canals, and pumps that deliver water from Northern California rivers to a population of 24 million across the state and to roughly 750,000 acres of increasingly arid farmland. It is the largest state-built water system and conveyance sysrem in the country.
