The 2009 Jacob Wolfowitz Prize has been awarded to Dr. Sung EunrnKim (of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, California State University-Long Beach, Long Beach, California 90840, USA) for her paper "MULTIVARIATE TIME SERIES MODEL FOR POLLUTANT TRANSPORT USING ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING DATA,"rnwhich the judges noted "presents a nonlinear time series model to detect and estimate transport parameters (direction and speed) of incoming pollutant transport at a given time period. The results have potential for extensions and the model could be a useful tool in air pollution source attribution studies."
