If two can play at this game, why not three - or so goes the bombshell proposal by billionaire investor Kirk Kerkorian to create the world's largest automotive alliance. In a move that rocked the industry - as well as global stock exchanges - Kerkorian filed with US regulators a plan to have General Motors join the alliance between Japan's Nissan and Europe's Renault. Kerkorian's vision would see the Euro-Asian partners take a 20% stake in the US giant.
