Keiley Masters, the driving force behind the Texas Cottage Food Law, provides an overview of the what it took to get the bill passed, what it means for Texas home bakers and what other legal ramifications may be on the way. After several years of rallying support for a cottage food bill, Keiley Masters got her State Representative, Dan Gattis, to introduce a version in 2009. It just so happened tht Gattis' mother had been an 'illegal' home baker, so he had a personal connection to the issue.
