Bombardier Launches CRJ 1000

In February this year, the Canadian airframe builder introduced the latest member of its CRJ family, which it calls the most successful regional aircraft programme in history. The aircraft, previously designated CRJ900X, has already won 38 firm orders, 15 of which represent switches from the smaller aircraft, plus 23 conditional orders and options. The CRJ1000 is being built at Bombardier's plant at Montreal's Mirabel airport. Its first flight is planned for mid-2008 with type certification and service entry scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2009.
