This paper describes the development process ofrnthe low-speed configuration of the CRJ-700,rnwith an emphasis on half-model high Reynoldsrnnumber wind tunnel testing. The processrnincluded CFD design and analysis, wind tunnelrntests and flight tests. The experimentalrndevelopment of the flaps and slats wasrnperformed using a 7% scale half-model, in thernIAR 5ft x5ft High Reynolds Number wind tunnel.rnResults from these tests are in very goodrnagreement with flight test data and decisionsrnmade in the wind tunnel lead to a short andrnsuccessful flight test program.
