Romanian Hercules Upgrade

Elbit Systems will upgrade the Romanian Air Force's Lockheed C-130 Hercules transports. The Israeli company announced the $18.6 million deal on May 24, but declined to mention the exact nature of the modification, although it stated that its subsidiary Elisra Electronic Systems will supply some of the systems. The upgrade is believed to involve the addition of self-defence equipment to the fleet, which currently comprises four C-130Bs and a single C-130H.
