'Food T'

In 2010, surveys indicated many enlisted airmen weren't happy with the variety of food in USAF dining halls or with the limited hours the halls were open. They were making use of the dining facilities-DFACs- for only about one of the three meals per day they were entitled to, said Fred McKenney, chief, Air Force Food and Beverage Branch at the Air Force Personnel Center. Enter the Food Transformation Initiative, or "Food T," as food service officials call it-shorthand for a series of experiments to make dining halls more like those on college campuses, with more choices, more appeal, and more healthful options.
