Air ambulances transport some half-million people a year due to medical emergencies. However, their use is costly. A flight from London to New York can cost $ 100,000. From Hong Kong to the Big Apple, the cost could be as high as $250,000. The Medical Air Services Association (MASA Assist), an Air Force Association benefits partner, is different. It offers these services to AFA members at affordable annual rates: $290 per year for individual coverage and $390 for family coverage.
