State teams up with private sector to tackle growing piracy

Since the beginning of the month, the private sector inGabon has been working intensely with the navy and theMinistry of Defence on finding effective ways to preventpirate attacks which, due to a low number of armedforces present and a lack of radar equipment along thecoast, are increasing in number. The ministry hosted meetings on both 9 and 13 September to address thismatter.
