Maurel & Prom forced to replace the irreplaceable C.Maitre

According to our sources, Christophe Maître, the director of the Tanzanian branch of Maurel & Prom, now a subsidiary of the Indonesian state-owned firm Pertamina, has decided to leave the company. This former French military officer had overseen the group’s Tanzanian operations since 2007. Engineer Nicolas Engel, who until now has been head of operations for Maurel & Prom in Gabon, is tipped to take on the role. After graduating at the French oil institute IFP, Engel has spent the bulk of his career in Gabon where he also worked for Perenco.
