Gardermoen Ju 88 gets glazing

Restoration of the world's oldest surviving Junkers Ju 88 is going well at the Royal Norwegian Air Force Museum workshops in Gardermoen, just north of Oslo. Sheet-metal specialist Joakim Jorstad recently completed the rudder and deskinned the tailplane, before remaking and straightening the stringers as necessary. The cockpit is also being fitted out, and installation of the refurbished side windows was under way in early September. Every last component from the cockpit is being overhauled, so it is expected that this area alone will take another year or so to complete.
