Aerodynamically the Victor was right from the outset. It was its crescent wing, fitted with leading-edge flaps, that made it sorngood. Typically for a swept-wing aircraft, the Victor suffered from "dutch roll" (lateral oscillation with both rolling and yawing components), but this was completely eliminated by fitting roll dampers, which proved extremely reliable throughout its Service life.rnBattling buffet on I he B.1rnThe aircraft exhibited very distinctive airframe buffet at low speeds approaching the stall. This developed in three clear stages of amplitude and frequency, making it very obvious to the pilot.
