Buchon flies at Duxford, 32 years on

On may 6 Hispano HA.1112 Buchon C.4K-31/G-AWHE made a 20min test flight at Duxford with John Romain at the controls, following a three-year in-depth overhaul by the Aircraft Restoration Company (ARC). The former Spanish Air Force, Rolls-Royce Merlin-powered version of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 last flew from Duxford on September 25,1968, when it departed for Bovingdon towards the end of production of the film Battle of Britain. Owned by Spitfire Ltd, The Buchon arrived at Duxford in June 2008 following disposal by the Texas-based Commemorative Air Force (CAF).
