'Super Star' moves to Paderborn

The Deutsche Lufthansa Berlin Stiftung (DLBS)-owned Lockheed L-1649 Starliner N7316C was moved the 145 miles south from a warehouse in the port area of Bremen in northern Germany to Paderborn-Lippstadt Airport in several stages at the end of February. The DLBS is now working on a concept that will see this rare surviving example of the ultimate 'Connie' iteration go on display in the future. Also now at Paderborn is Junkers Ju 52/3m 'D-AQUI7D-CDLH, which was operated by the DLBS from 1986 until financial support was withdrawn by Lufthansa in January 2019. The Paderborn-based Quax-Flieger association now houses the Ju 52 alongside the DLBS's airworthy Messerschmitt Bf 108 D-EBEI and Dornier Do 27 D-EDNU, which are now operated by Quax.
