Accountability: the forgotten creed

At no previous time has the culture of passing the buck been so pervasive. It is widespread at all levels in the community - from government down to personal responsibility for one's own actions, whether smoking, over-eating or over-spending. As to blame, our benighted legal system encourages the 'no fault' syndrome. This allows culprits to be transformed into victims in search of a soft target. The concept of personal responsibility is an anachronism. Regardless of the foolishness of my conduct, if I have suffered I must be compensated.The only question is by whom.
