FRC COMMITTED TO SHORT SHELF LIFE FRSSE

The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) is committed to pushing through plans for a short shelf life FRSSE 2015 accounting framework for small business, although it will only be effective for less than 12 months unless there is a strong opposition to proposals in the ongoing consultation on implementing the EU Accounting Directive. Small businesses will have to move to FRSSE 2015 to report their accounts for year ends 31 December 2015, and then effectively move to a totally different accounting framework due to the introduction of the EU Accounting Directive into UK law, which is slated to hit the statute books in July 2015.
