Nowadays it is unlikely for people to secure a job, regardless of thier qualifications, without some evidence of working in the sector. Experience has become so valuable that in some respects it has overtaken the importance of qualifications, hence why all the top accounting firms offer internships to university students and school leavers to give them the opportunity to kick start their career in the accounting profession.
