Representative metastatic melanoma tissue with analysis mark-up ( ). Panel A illustrates a CD8 stain; red dashed line is the invasive tumor margin. CD8 and CD163 cells are counted within the invasive margin, 100 μm inside and 100 μm outside the tumor as identified with green and orange lines spaced 20 μm. , CD8 and CD163 cells’ density is binned according to the distance from the margin and a 20 μm bin histogram is generated. The middle of the histogram if the tumor boundary (red dashed line), to the left is inside tumor (green bars) and to the right is outside tumor (orange bars)
