Attenuation of increased intraocular pressure with propofol anesthesia: A systematic review with meta-analysis and trial sequential analysis

摘要

This study provides an overview of intraocular pressure (IOP) changes due to surgery and anesthesia. Intubation and pneumoperitoneum with CO are associated with increased IOP. Trendelenburg, prone, and lateral decubitus positions are associated with increased IOP. Propofol-based total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA) attenuates elevated IOP, and may reduce postoperative visual loss.
