Family Practice: Gearing for Geriatrics

摘要

The report of the 1984 CMA Task Force on the Allocation of Health Care Resources concluded that there will be a greater increase in the number of elderly people in Canada in the next 20 years than in the first 20 years of the next century. This paper reviews the changes that will be necessary to remodel the health-care system in preparation for this demographic shift, and will discuss how these changes will affect the family physician.
