摘要

This essay discusses LIU Jiakun＇ s recent project - the Memorial House of HU Huishan. It provides an interpretation of the architecture＇ s form. meaning and the architect＇s designing strategy. Although only a very small architecture.the elements of the Memorial House-pitch roof.stereotomics and round sky light -can be related to the rich architectural tradition of primitive architecture and monumentality. These elements are analyzed with regard to the relevant writings of Plato.Vitruvius. Laugier.Semper.Loos and RossJ. Based on this analysis.this essay discusses the essence of the monumentality of the project and its relationship with the architectural elements.
