In this work, a full-length Cdna sequence of APETALA2 gene was obtained from petals of Paeonia suffruticosa ' Zhaofen ' using RT-PCR and RACE, named PsAP2 ( GenBank accession No. HM167511). Sequence analysis indicated that PsAP2 is 2 138 bp in full length, containing a 5'-untranslated region (5'-UTR) of 47 bp, a 3'-UTR of 557 bp, and an opening reading frame (ORF) of 1 533 bp encoding a 510 predicted ammo acids,and belongs to AP2 family. Sequence alignment and phylogenetic analysis revealed that PsAP2 shared more than 70% homology with Vitis vinefera. Relative Real-Time PCR analysis indicated that PsAP2 expressed in roots, stems, leaves and four floral organs.
