摘要

Based on a thorough review of current language research, this paper encompasses a retrospect of the formation and development of cognitive linguistics. What＇s more, the paper also illustrates the importance of image schema in cognitive linguistics and the important role of metaphor and metonymy in explaining systematic polysemy and semantic development.%本文通过大量研究调查,回顾了认知语言学的形成发展过程;并以具体实例着重阐明了意象图示在认知语言学中的重要意义,以及隐喻、转喻在解释一词多义现象和词义发展中的创作性作用。
