＜正＞ I.Purpose of the Study In the essay,we hope to call the teachers’ attention to the importance about reading and text teaching.Theoretically and practically,we have a try to introduce some effective strategies and skills.1.1.Introduction English learning is difficult for many Chinese learners.One of the major causes is that English and Chinese belong to different language systems.Another important cause is the fault of current methods that many teachers have been applying.In the process of text teaching,problems are mainly present in the following two aspects:One is that some teachers and students neglect the importance of reading;Another aspect is that text materials are utilized insufficiently,that is to say,enough reading strategies and skills are not applied in text teaching.
