An Analysis of the Growing Theme in Salvation from the Perspective of Initiation Story

摘要

The initiation story derives from Germany. It's called Bildungsroman in German language. By retelling the growing process of a young figure, the ideology and psychological state from immaturity to maturity was reflected. Initiation story is an important part of the American literature, and more and more critics choose this unique perspective to explore those young protagonists' growing process in literature. In this paper, I also would like to analyze the twelve-year-old boy's growing process from perspective of initiation story.
