This paper presents an overview of social computing research, which includs contributional literatures, influential authors and content map. More than5000 publications' bibliographic information from the SSCI and SCI databases (1994-2011) are analyzed.The key publications are identified by document cocitation patterns, and the influential authors are also identified by clustering the co-cited authorship patterns.The analysis of content map is based on keywords co-word patterns. This information is visualized by CiteSpace,and HistCite is used to analyse some statistics information. This information could help new comer to access the research communities quickly.
