摘要

Virginia Woolf is one of the earliest and most influential feminist writers of the 20th century. To the Lighthouse is one of Virginia Woolf's autobiographical novel. However, little attention is paid to Lily Briscoe. Lily sees the family objectively. Her paint-ing symbolically unfolded the whole the entire action of the novel.Lily Briscoe is the real hero. Lily is created as a"moderate Femi-nist"I will discuss how Virginia Woolf creates Lily's figure and how her painting relates to herself and Ramsay family.
