The Great Gatsby, the masterpiece by F. Scott Fitzgerald, outlines the protagonist Gatsby'go-go American Dream: its bud, strive, achievement and disappearance. Fantastic and dazzling as the dream is, this paper manages to disclose the horrible truth of American Dream in life:disillusion and destruction, only leaving the nothingness for people to crave in illusion and fantasy.
