To date, research studies on students'professional identities have primarily focused on teacher education or nursing pro?gram, with little attention paid to language learners'professional identities in the study. This study aims to explore the characteris?tics of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) graduate students'professional identities as well as the possible factors influencing graduate students'professional identities. A case study of six English as a Foreign Language (EFL) graduate students was conduct?ed, and qualitative interviews were carried out to make sense students'characteristics and factors influencing their professional identities. The findings indicated that the overall condition of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) graduate students'professional identities was generally higher, and revealed a string of factors influencing their professional identities. This study has implication for English as a Foreign Language (EFL) graduate students'professional development, shedding light on how English as a Foreign Language (EFL) graduate students'professional identities can be facilitated.
