China English and Its Implications for English Teaching in China

摘要

China English,as a member of the system of World Englishes,is a localized English variety developed in Chinese cultural contexts.It has aroused many scholars' interest since 1980's.English has become the dominant foreign language in China for almost 30 years and a series of problems have been found in the English teaching practice.The present situation of English teaching and the implications of China English for TEFL in China will be discussed from three aspects:teaching objective,teaching materials and teaching methods.It is quite necessary to enrich English teaching materials with China English,and to explore a set of appropriate and nativized teaching methods in view of the fact that English is a foreign language in China.
