But there have been few researches of B. mandarina, and its sericinl and the upstream control sequence remain poorly understood. In the present study, we cloned the sericinl and the upstream control sequence of B. mandarina with the primers designed according to the sericinl and the upstream control sequences of B. mori. The amino acid sequence translated from the cloned sericinl of B. mandarina was aligned with Sericinl A' (Serl A') of B. mori, using the Muscle software. The result showed that the two sequences shared great similarity (about 98%), which revealed that the cloned sericinl of B. mandarina can be designated as B. mandarina Sericin 1 A' (B. mandarina SerlA'). Like the case of B. mori, the upstream control sequence of B. mandarina also showed polymorphism. Two sequences, 1061 bp and 636 bp in length, with an insertion sequence 425 bp long, were cloned. They shared a similarity of 98% and 97% with sericinl and the upstream control sequence of B. rnori, respectively.
