Artificial intelligence is affecting various industries with its unprecedented speed. The development of educational artificial intelligence brings hope to domestic education reform, while it still remains unknown whether artificial intelligence could bring disruptive innovation to education? In order to solve the problem, this paper firstly analyzed the innovation demands of education and clarified the occurrence conditions of disruptive innovation. Secondly, the applications of artificial intelligence in the field of education were introduced in detail, based on which the possibility of artificial intelligence bringing disruptive innovation to education was discussed by visually presenting the correlation of education systems supported by artificial intelligence.
