By means of conventional weather charts, typhoon track,satellite images and radar echo etc, activity characteristics of No. 9 Typhoon Matsa was analyzed in 2005. The results showed that. typhoon Matsa was the worst natural disasters in recent Shanghai,and created havoc, gale, rainstorm and high tide level; the pace would slacken when Matsa developed into typhoon, and it moves more slowly when Matsa developed into a strong typhoon. All of above characteristics show that the more developed Matsa is,the more slowly it moves; the structure of the spiral cloud and rain band are the causes of gale and rainstorm. When typhoon arrived, its movements and weather variations must be observed. The development, intensity and moving track of the typhoon should be gasped by the observers, which are important steps for aviation meteorological observation and support.%使用常规资料、台风路径、卫星云图和雷达回波等资料,对2005年9号台风“麦莎”的活动特征进行分析,结果表明:“麦莎”台风是近期影响上海市最为严重的一次台风过程,给上海带来大风、暴雨和高潮位;当“麦莎”发展成为台风后,移动速度明显减慢,发展成强台风后,移动速度更慢,整个移动过程表现为发展愈强,移速愈慢其特征;台风(眼)螺旋云系和螺旋雨带结构是产生大风和暴雨的主要卫星云图云系和雷达回波系统;台风来临时,严密监视机场周围台风的动向及天气变化情况,及时了解台风的发生、发展、强度和移动路径,了解台风过境的强度和天气预报,做到心中有数,临阵不乱,这是民航气象观测与保障的重要环节。
