The modeling of swept volume is one of the most important steps in virtual sculpture system, which is the basis of Boolean operation of swept volume and blank, so we need to make a study of it closely. This paper mainly describes the process of the modeling, including the abstraction and simplification of generator, the analysis of swept trajectory, picking up swept profile and the construction of swept volume;Then it is proved that this modelling method is practical through the examples.%在虚拟雕刻系统中,刀具扫掠体的建模是极其重要的一步,它是刀具扫掠体与毛坯进行布尔运算的基础,因而需要对它进行细致的研究,讲述了刀具扫掠体模型的建立过程,主要包括扫掠基体的抽象简化、扫掠路径的分析、扫掠轮廓曲线的提取以及扫掠体的构建;然后再通过实例证明了该造型方法的实用性.
