In the first fifteen years after 1949,the Chinese government actively organized overseas Chinese's homeland tours, which played an important role in improving their cohesion and love of the motherland, attracting them for more investment of foreign currencies in the socialist construction, and strengthening the foreign relations between China and those countries with Chinese emigrants. These homeland tours were organized for special motivations and as a result the activities of travel agencies and local receptions were also bound to have the characteristics of that era.%1949年后的最初十五年中,中国政府积极组织华侨回国观光,有力地发挥了凝聚侨心侨力,为国家经济建设争取侨汇,吸引华侨回国投资,紧密中国与侨居国外交关系的重要作用.中国政府在这个时期开展组织华侨回国观光旅游活动,是有其特定原因的,而当时有关旅行社和地方的接待活动,也就必然带有这个时期的特点.
