艺术究竟是如何堕落的——西方当代艺术与视觉文化批判

从艺术自律及其丧失,以及唯美的放逐开始,艺术的堕落就日益突显出来,这种堕落在当代达到了它的极致。在当代,艺术的堕落主要表征为艺术从美的表现到对丑、恶心的卖弄、炫耀,对市场的讨好与对大众的献媚,深陷暴力、色情的诱惑与颓废的情绪难以自拔,以致具有导致人性的丧失与道德底线失守的可能。在当代艺术中,这些堕落的乱象需要得到救赎,而西方当代艺术正处于堕落与救赎的尖锐冲突之中。同时,这也揭示了西方当代视觉文化的根本困境。%Degeneration of art began with loss of art＇s self-discipline and exile of beauty-orientation.It is more and more apparent and now reaches its peak.At the contemporary age,degeneration of art is mainly shown by show-off of ugliness and sickness and catering to the market and the mass.Contemporary art is deeply trapped in violence,sex and depression and is possible to cause loss of human nature and moral base line.In the contemporary art,these irrational things need to be redeemed and western contemporary art is now in the sharp conflict between degeneration and redemption,which,at the same time,reveals the fundamental dilemma in western contemporary visual culture.
