T he essay analyzes the demand status for talents possessing good English commu‐nication capability in the shipbuilding industry .Guided by the ESP theory ,it discusses the curriculum design and fulfillment of shipbuilding professional English appealing to market and career development ,so as to improve the teaching quality of this course .%本文分析了船舶行业发展对具有良好英语交际能力人才的需求现状，并在ES P理论指导下，探讨符合市场需求和职业发展的船舶行业英语课程设计和实施办法，以期提高该课程的教学质量。
