工科类高职校园的公示语英译及其育人实践——以苏州工业职业技术学院为例

             

摘要

作为文化育人中较为显性的一部分,校园公示语及其英译旨在给受众以提示、指示、告示、警示等图文信息.工科类高职院校,兼具工科特色和高职教育特征,更应关注于文化育人创新行动.校园公示语英译,在语言维上"对语言形式进行适应性选择转换",在文化维上"关注双语文化内涵的传递",在交际维上"关注双语交际意图的适应性选择转换",更从翻译生态和"汰弱留强"等自然生态法则的视角阐释着学院的使命、社会的担当、育人的天职,铸就着工科类高职校园的文化与特质,催生着校企文化和校地文化等协同育人新范式.%Polytechnic institutes also carry campus signs & their English translations.Their primary purpose is only to direct or suggest the necessary and sufficient information.The campus signs are characteristic of polytechnic institutes as well as higher vocational education.They aim at talents'cultivation through culture. Suzhou Vocational Institute of Industrial Technology (SIIT) tries every possible means to cultivate the needed talents through campus culture.The campus signs,on linguistic,cultural & communicative levels,help convey the institute's mission,social responsibilities and talents'cultivation.They are of great aid in remolding the stndents of polytechnic institutes.Also,they enhance the connection of enterprise culture & local culture with campus culture in the concerted efforts of talents'cultivation.
