奈保尔小说《河湾》（A Bend in the River）形象生动地刻画了一系列知识分子形象。论文运用后殖民主义理论家萨义德的知识分子论,旨在剖析作品中不同类型知识分子人物形象,阐述了知识分子在后殖民语境中存在的困境和困惑,彰显奈保尔作为第三世界知识分子代表的特殊使命。%There are many vivid and impressive images of intellectuals in V.S.Naipual's A Bend in the River.From the perspective of Edward Said's interpretation on intellectuals,the thesis tends to analyze different types of intellectual in the novel and explore the confusion and embarrassment of them in the post-colonial context,aiming to illustrate Naipaul's unique mission as one of the representative intellectuals from the Third World.
