跨文化语用视角下看中美交际模式的差异

摘要

The present paper aims at facilitating the cross-cultural communication,esp.the one between Chinese and Americans.The author approaches the communicative patterns of China and the United States under the guidance of high and low context theory by edward t.Hall and gives a summary as to the marked differences between the two contrasting patterns in the respects of orientation,thinking pattern and awareness towards communities.Then the author interprets all these differences with pragmatic theories including speech act theory and cooperative principles.The directness and indirectness are exposited by the former and the amount of information and attitude towards silence are interpreted by the latter.%以辅助跨文化交际,尤其是中美之间的文化交流为写作目的.依据爱德华.霍尔的高低语境理论,分析高低语境文化中迥异的人际交往模式,接着在导向、思维模式和对于群体的认同等方面总结出中美之间交际模式的显著差异,然后从言语行为理论和合作原则等语用学理论出发,给出语用学阐释.高低语境下的直接与间接的区别使用了言内之意和言外之意来解释,交际者信息量大小及对待沉默的态度则取决于中美对于合作原则的不同理解.
