The purpose of this study is to survey the growth of domestic and overseas academic masters characteristic of problem-based mind, humanistic concern and scientific inquiry in free educational environment. It suggests that Chinese higher learning institutions innovate their conceptions, programs, teaching approaches and methods to meet today’s realistic challenges.%高等学校的首要职能是人才培养,纵观古今中外学术大师成长的共同之处可以发现:他们均具有良好的问题意识和科学求索精神,以及学习过程中获得的强烈人文关怀,而自由宽松的教育环境则是大师成长的沃土。因此,面对中国高等教育的现实困境,我国应把教育观念的改变、教学方法的创新、培养方案和模式的调整作为关键的应对策略。
