Objective: To investigate the prevalence of metabolic syndrome (MS) among elder population in Machong town of DongCuan, GuangDong province in 2010 ~2011. Methods: The cluster randomly sampling was used in this cross-sectional study. Questionnaires, physical examination, blood biochemical detection were used to access data as body mass index, lipid profile, blood glucose and blood pressure. MS was diagnosis according to Chinese Diabetes Society (2004) suggestion-diagnosed standard. Chi-square test was used for data analysis. The prevalence of MS and its influencing factors were analyzed by Multinomial Logistic regression analysis. Results: Among 2003 elder people, the level of body mass index and high density lipoprotein cholesterol were higher in female compared with male; the prevalence of MS was 19. 1% , and the standardized prevalence was 19. 3%. There was no significant difference among groups of different age and gender. The prevalence of hypertension was the highest among MS, whereas overweight and obesity was the most important influencing factors related with MS. Conclusion: The prevalence of MS in Machong town of DongCuan elder population isn't high. Overweight or and besity are the most important risk factors of MS, and the age of incidence is younger. Therefore healthy lifestyle education should be carried out in adults as early as possible, and more attention should be paid on monitoring body weight and abdominal circumference.%目的:调查2010-2011年广东省东莞市麻涌镇老年人群代谢综合征(MS)及其诊断标准中各组分患病率及对MS影响情况.方法:采用整群随机抽样法,以调查问卷、体格检查、血生化检测方式收集BMI、血脂、血糖、血压等数据,以中华医学会糖尿病学分会2004年建议的诊断标准分析患病率.应用卡方检验进行率的比较,并对MS各组分行多元Logistic回归分析.结果:2003名65岁以上老年人中,女性的BMI和HDL-C高于男性；MS患病率为19.1％,经2010年全国人口年龄构成标化后的患病率为19.3％,不同年龄和性别组间比较差异无统计学意义.MS各组分中以高血压患病率最高,以超重或肥胖对MS患病率影响最大,年龄对其无影响.结论:广东省东莞市麻涌镇老年人MS患病率不高,超重或肥胖是其最大危险因素,且MS发病有高峰前移的倾向,因此应尽早在青壮年中开展健康生活方式教育,并重视对体质量、腹围的监测.
