Connexins are members of a large family of transmembrane proteins that form gap junctions or hemichannels.Connexins play an important role in the development of atherosclero-sis.Three main connexins,Cx37,Cx40 and Cx43,are expressed in cells involved in atherosclero-sis.Different connexin subtypes from different cells have been shown to play different roles in vascular physiology.The adhesion of circulating monocytes to vascular endothelial cells is a cruci-al event in the development of atherosclerosis and other vascular inflammatory lesions.This re-view summarizes the involvement of connexins in monocyte-endothelium interactions in athero-sclerosis.%缝隙连接蛋白(Cx)是构成细胞间缝隙连接或半通道的跨膜蛋白超家族,在动脉粥样硬化发展中有重要作用。与动脉粥样硬化相关的细胞主要表达3种 Cx 亚型:Cx37、Cx40和 Cx43。不用细胞来源的 Cx 亚型在血管生理中表现为不同生理功能。循环中单核细胞与血管内皮细胞黏附是动脉粥样硬化等血管炎症病变的关键环节。本文重点对不同细胞源性 Cx 亚型在单核-内皮细胞的相互作用作一文献综述。
